SnapScan: Mobile Payments Made Easy
SnapScan is a mobile payments app that allows South Africans to make secure payments with their phones. Once you install the app, you can load your bank card and add a secure pin or fingerprint authentication. Then, you can scan a SnapScan QR code to make payments with your phone.
With SnapScan, you can pay in store and online, settle bills, make donations, buy electricity and airtime, send money to friends, and even load up to three cards for easy payments. The app also offers a wallet option for budgeting and keeps a record of your previous transactions.
SnapScan works with all South African banks and most international credit cards, but you need a valid credit or eCommerce enabled debit card to use it. You also need a working South African cellphone number. The app only requests permission to access your contacts to fill-in your own details during signup and Bluetooth to detect SnapBeacons.
